a little dip'll do ya

The local Surface Design Association volunteers did a practice run though a couple of weeks before the big event at the Houston Center of Contemporary Crafts (see previous post), I dipped some watercolor paper in the pot. These were framed with fabric mats or glued onto blank greeting cards.

So Simple! Multiple dips holding the paper at various angles creates a layered effect and beautiful blue landscapes.

The SDA local members have been invited back for another Indigo Dyeing day at HCCC in October 2016!  It'll be great fun again, I'm sure - but too late to report on here for this month of Indigo.  This time we're doing bandanas.
